Before apply spray cork, the surface must be cleaned and prepared for application. Repairs should also be carried out prior to application.

Spray corks thermal property is not measured in R-value but in thermal conductivity, a measure of the rate at which temperature passes through a material. Spray cork is capable of acting as an effective thermal barrier, with thermal conductivity of 0.082. Lower is better. Spray cork is also effective at sealing gaps and air leaks.

Spray cork is a challenging DIY project and should be applied by a professional.
